MAJOR DISPLAY DATES: Logger Sports 2nd weekend in July and Sea Fair (mid-August).

The Forestry Museum is involved with many projects, some underway, others in the planning stages. It takes time, money, and the dedication of our volunteers to continue our successes.

Our program includes:

Willingdon Beach Trail Maintenance
Maintenance of this accessible trail for the enjoyment of the people of Powell River and Visitors
Willingdon Beach Trail as an official park
The Powell River Forestry Museum Society is working with several groups in the community to add the historic Willingdon Beach Trail and surrounding forest to the Powell River park system
Replication of a bunkhouse
In the north room of the Forestry Museum, we are replicating a typical loggers' bunkhouse, using artifacts from the early days of logging in the 20th century
Steam Donkey Restoration/display
We retreived a rusting donkey from a local forest and built a new skid for it. See the steam donkey now on the Willingdon Beach Trail.

A small gift shop is inside the lobby of the Forestry Museum, managed and staffed by local artists and craftspeople, and offers souvenirs unique to Powell River.
